Natural Cold And Flu Remedies –

natural-cold-remedies1-e1389921403719It’s that time of year again, especially here in the Northeast – the dreaded cold and flu season!

Before you succumb to all the advertising on television for the latest cold product to treat your symptoms, you might want to check out a few natural remedies that should work just as well, if not better.

Certainly the best defense against colds and the flu is to stay healthy by eating a balanced diet full of fruits and vegetables and avoiding excess sugar and processed carbohydrates.  Also, be sure to stay well hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day to help flush toxins out of your body.

Even the best defense may succumb to some bad bugs and viruses though.  If this happens, taking a few natural steps can help your body fight off these unwelcome intruders.

The attached article outlines a few options to help combat that nasty cold.  I particularly like the information about coconut oil.  The lauric acid found in coconut oil can help boost your immune system and is great any time of the year to promote optimal health.

Any other natural remedies that have worked for you?  Let us know.

Enjoy the article and keep looking forward to Spring!
