Our 28-Day Metabolic Detox has been completed!
We’re pretty excited and proud to have completed the full program and we’re also very impressed with the results. Both Dianna and I feel a lot better than we did when we started, on several different levels. Here’s our breakdown:
With the exception of Mike getting bronchitis on day 26, we both feel that our overall health has improved. We each just did a BIA test (Bio-impedence Analysis) – which is a test we use in the 12-Week Healthy Transformation Program that we offer. This test measures markers of health such as your Fat Mass percentage, Lean Mass percentage, Total Body Water, and Cellular health. Dianna had done a BIA test prior to starting the Detox and all of her markers have improved. She lost about 10 lbs, her Lean Mass has increased and her Fat Mass has decreased. All of this indicates that her body composition is changing for the better! Mike lost about 10 lbs., and his BIA numbers came back great as well. Also, Dianna had been using an inhaler nightly to deal with allergies, but is now no longer using it at all. This is most likely the result of healing her leaky gut, and tamping down the inflammatory response from too much insulin.
There’s no question that our go-to food choices have changed dramatically. Dianna struggled with an addiction to carbs and sugar. After completing the detox, she now finds that those cravings have disappeared completely. It’s much easier to make healthy food choices when you eliminate cravings for the bad stuff. As we’ve added certain foods back into our diet , we’ve both noticed certain reactions that indicate we might have a sensitivity, so we’ll be sure to keep an eye on those foods moving forward. We’ve also noticed that a little bit goes a long way, post detox. For example, a few small pieces of dark chocolate are completely satisfying and we no longer need to eat more and more – in fact eating too much stops tasting good because our taste buds have changed. Mike is enjoying eating vegetables and fruit and our dinner plates will always have at least one vegetable on them from now on!
Energy and Sleep:
We both saw an increased ability to fall asleep and stay asleep. Dianna was never a morning person, but now she wakes up easily in the morning as the kids are getting up for school. She no longer has the urge to crash in the middle of the day – most likely due to the stabilization of her blood sugars throughout the day as the result of eating clean. We both have more energy, increased mental clarity, and an overall improved sense of well being. When you start to pay attention to taking care of yourself, it’s a very rewarding feeling!
In summary, we are both thrilled to have completed the 28-Day Detox together and the results have been even better than we expected.
We’re now transitioning over to the 12-Week Healthy Transformation Program. During this program, Dianna will be working to continue to improve her overall health, improve her body composition, and lose weight naturally. There is a caloric component to this program and she’ll be monitored through BIA testing every few weeks throughout the duration of the program. We’ll both be eating real, healthy food throughout and look forward to providing updates along the way.
